NGR - Upgrades

QR.png

The New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) project is a A$4.4bn ($4.1bn) project aimed at adding 75 six-car trains to the rail network in South East Queensland.

The introduction of new trains increases the network’s overall fleet size by 30%. To be operated by Queensland Rail, the NGR trains will initially run on the highdemand
Airport and Gold Coast line.

QENCOM provided the design, construction, commissioning, and integration of all power system upgrades required to accommodate the upgraded rolling stock fleet across the SEQ network including:

  • Northgate Feeder Station

  • Moolabin Feeder Station

  • Yeerongpilly TSC

  • Mayne Feeder Station

  • And many more...

The project presented many technical and operational challenges, including the construction of key infrastructure in close proximity to: operational rolling stock, track side systems, signalling systems and high voltage infrastructure.

QENCOM’s integrated Engineering and Construction teams worked closely with Queensland Rail & external stakeholders to overcome these challenges.

QENCOM prides itself on providing innovative practical solutions for complex projects.
